Select A New Fine Arts

Grades K-2

Students will gain the skills needed to confidently and independently use technology to learn. Such skills are identifying parts of the computer, log in and out and access internet based programs. These students will also be introduced to basic keyboarding skills and learn safety and ethical issues related to technology. Additionally students will use technology to reinforce classroom concepts and activities. 

Programs to be used are typingforkids.comnetsmartzkidz.org, ABCMouse, and Istation.
Grades 3-5
Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of computer skills using Word Processing, PowerPoint and Excel. Master keyboarding skills to help prepare them for the demands of technology-fused instruction and yearly state testing. In addition students will learn internet safety and research skills. They will also learn the basics of coding through Code.org.
Programs to be used are funtotype.com, typingclub, K5technologycurriculum.com, Code.org, ABCYA, and Istation.
Grades 6-8
Students will be introduced to Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Slides, Google Sites, and will begin working in Google Classroom. Students will be able to work online or offline, anytime, and on any device with G Suite for Education. Students will use these tools to encourage collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, and work one-on-one or with the whole class.
Grades 9-12
Students will use the Edhesive program provided by Amazon Future Engineer Program to study an Introduction to Computer Science. Amazon is helping dramatically expand access to AP Computer Science at high schools nationwide as part of the Amazon Future Engineer Program. We are very excited about this new program where students can learn how to create their own Apps.
