Bio

Biography:

Twila Crockett is a graduate of MitchellBakerHigh School. After graduation, she acquired her Insurance Billing Specialist Certification; this certification allowed her to work with accounts receivable and claims submissions. For many years, she worked as a Insurance Billing Specialist at PhoebePutneyMemorialHospital.

Due to her love for educating children, Twila began working as a substitute teacher in grades K12 within various school systems in Southwest Georgia. In wanting to further her education to become an Elementary School Educator, She attended BainbridgeCollege and AlbanyStateUniversity where she obtained an Associate’s of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education. Twila delighted in the opportunity to study abroad in Belize and she also received a Who’s Who Certification as part of this program.

For the past five years, Twila has been employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Baker County K-12. While working with these children, she has developed a passion for special needs children. She does not know who loves who the most, the students or herself. Because of this great relationship, she believes that she can educate as well as teach them life skills to develop independence. Twila credits her behavioral support and positive attitude in the students striving, exceeding and succeeding in educational challenges.

Twila is currently enrolled at AshfordUniversity and this year she will obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree, she plans to purse her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2021. Her ultimate goal is to inspire young minds, promote learning and meet the needs of all children with special educational needs.
